Being that my name is Summer, I feel like I need to be the Level 1 expert of all things summertime. Summer looks different in different parts of the country, but the general idea is that the colors are fresh and light, as well as the fabric.
What to wear to a wedding in June - During June, days are generally quite nice, warm, and not too harsh. A cap sleeve dress with a tea-length hemline is the perfect June look that will keep your comfy and cute.
What to wear to a wedding in July - Attending a wedding in July can be absolutely sweltering, with it being right in the middle summer. Dresses with delicate thin straps will probably be your best bet for choosing a dress to wear -- this ensures that it won't be too constricting, but not too revealing either.
What to wear to a wedding in August - Weddings in August are very similar to July, but we're closer to the height hurricane season, which brings in a little more complexity to what you'll wear! When choosing shoes, try to find patent leather or another material impervious to possible rain (so NOT suede!).
Best colors to wear to a summer wedding:
Bright yellow - Normally a bright color may be viewed as too showy, but for summer, jewel tones are a welcome color palette!
Tropical green - Opting for a more yellow-y aloe green lets you take the lush green outdoors inside as you celebrate.
Navy blue - If you want a deeper, more mature color for a summer wedding, choose a navy blue look.
Caramel or dark tan - Make sure not to wear a light tan, as this could be considered a type of "white" colors, which is a no-no at weddings.
It's hard to find great summer wedding dresses at reasonable prices. You may be inclined to just take a trip to the local Davids Bridal and pick out some plain wedding guest dress, but why getting something plain when you can wear a totally standout outfit to this summer wedding? If it's a hot hot hot location, be sure to choose a light fabric! Chiffon is usually the best option for formal dresses, as well as cotton if you can swing it.

Always check in with the bride/bridesmaids to check that you're not wearing the wedding colors, but opt for a fun color for a black tie wedding in the summer! Black tie is a very winter-esque dress code, so to avoid looking too drab, pair with a summery pair of earrings, like the pineapple jewel earrings below.

Destination weddings are a BLAST! Depending on the location, you can totally dress for the occasion. Try a tropical or floral print, paired with accessories that match the location around you — seashells, wood, jute, etc.
